Please bring three non-perishable food items (e.g., boxed dry foods; canned meats, fruits and vegetables; cereals and mixes; pasta and rice) to donate to Mid-Ohio Foodbank to help feed hungry people in central Ohio. Here are examples of materials that crime prevention experts including the National Crime Prevention Council and the Columbus Division of Police recommend you dispose of by shredding:
Address labels from junk mail and magazines

  • Bank statements, canceled and voided checks, ATM receipts
  • Birth certificate copies
  • Computer CDs, floppy disks and tape cartridges
  • containing financial or other confidential data
  • Credit and charge card bills, carbon copies, summaries and receipts
  • Credit reports and histories
  • Documents containing names, addresses, phone, Employment records and resumés, numbers or e-mail addresses
  • Documents containing maiden name (used by credit card companies for security reasons)
  • Documents containing passwords, PIN numbers
  • or Social Security numbers
  • Driver’s licenses or items with a driver’s license
  • Outdated identification cards (college IDs, state IDs, employee ID badges, military IDs) Pre-approved credit card applications Receipts with card or checking account numbers
  • Report cards
  • Tax forms, pay stubs, benefits statements
  • Transcripts
  • Travel itineraries, used airline tickets , luggage tags
  • Utility bills (telephone, gas, electric, water, cable TV, Internet)
