We have such a good crew here. I love working with such positive people each day.

We really get to the heart of things here and work hard to find the best solutions for our clients. Our clients are really important to us.

What can you tell us about industry trends?
The industry is really starting to step into the future. There is a definite change from paper to electronic storage and technology is constantly changing and upgrading. Fireproof is doing a great job of educating, and staying ahead of the trends.

What are some things people don’t know about you?
-       I am a very family oriented person. My family is very important to me.
-       I have 2 wonderful children.

What are some of your hobbies and interests?
-       I enjoy martial arts.
-       I love sports especially football and track and field.
-       When it comes to football, I love to cheer on the Broncos and the Steelers.

I support the cure for breast cancer and all their charities.

I would tell them to never be afraid to utilize your Fireproof resources where your information is concerned. The experience and talent within the company is phenomenal! We are confident that we can handle whatever situation you may encounter. Also be sure to ask questions!

What is your favorite thing about working at Fireproof?
I love the relationships I form with our customers! The best part of my job is hearing clients laugh or making jokes on the other end of the phone. It lets me know that we as a company have done what it takes to meet that client’s expectations.

How is Fireproof better than its competitors?
Fireproof strives to meet every need our clients may have. We take the necessary time and action needed to get to the bottom of our clients’ information management needs. We seek to develop a professional relationship with each client that allows them to feel comfortable throughout their Fireproof experience. Plus we have a lot of talent!

What can you tell us about industry trends?
Information management can be very complex if not handled properly. You cannot tackle each task from the same angle, which is why it is very important to be flexible within the industry.

What are some things people don’t know about you?
-  I love Mickey Mouse! (She was even wearing a Mickey Mouse necklace.) I was so excited that I cried the first time I saw him…that was just this past April!
-  I played soccer when I was in middle school, and was actually pretty good at it.
-  I was also in the Church choir.

What are some of your hobbies and interests?
I love watching movies. However, my most important hobby is shopping! I really love shoes!

What do you do at Fireproof?
I re-file files and work in destruction retrievals. My primary responsibility is to place retrieved files back into the box they came from when we are done using them.

According to co-workers Marlon treats each file as if it were his own family’s records. When the files are returned to Fireproof we have an internal goal to get them back where they belong the same day. Marlon can always be trusted to do just that! You never know when someone’s life is dependent on the file.

Best advice to Fireproof clients?
We have good people working here and provide the best service in the business. We will take care of your files and take pride in our work.

Favorite thing about your job?
I like that we are able to move up within the business. This gives our employees a lot of potential to grow and do more within the company.

How is Fireproof better than their competitors?
We are a very close-knit group of people. I really like the family environment that we have here. Not all companies are that way. The people I work with are in fact my “work family”.

What can you tell us about Industry trends?
One industry trend that I have noticed is that businesses are going more toward imaging and digital and moving away from paper. I believe there will always be paper, but it is exciting to see Fireproof invest in the training of their employees to keep up with industry trends.

List 3 things people don’t know about you.
I like to sleep a lot (just not on the job-ha!)
I collect a lot of Ohio State memorabilia. And I love it all!
I like to fish- especially on Lake Erie and have some caught some big fish in my day (or so the story goes…).

Tell us about your family life.
It is just my mother and me. We lost my sister to cancer last November.
List your hobbies and interests.
I love to watch and play football and basketball. I really like watching the Ohio State Buckeyes. Professional football?  Da Chicago Bears!

Marlon did not want to share this, but he was a basketball captain for Columbus South High School. He likes to be a “behind the scenes” type of guy. He has always enjoyed watching those around him succeed, and led his team in assists. “I do my job the same way, team first.” Marlon likes to do the little things and that’s what wins championships.

What do you do at Fireproof?
The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. The position is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. As the Accounting Manager, I supervise three employees and am responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the budgeting and forecast activities. I prepare and input payroll bi-weekly and insure all internal controls are in place and are being observed to insure cost control and state and federal compliance. As a 401-K plan administrator my duties are to insure deferrals and Company matches are correct and deposited on a timely manner. 

Do you have a unique Fireproof story to share?
The charitable giving from Fireproof always amazes me…the donations are given without fanfare or expecting something in return. Fireproof continues to be a strong support in the Columbus community for all causes including the prevention of blindness, the American Cancer Society, Stefanie’s Champions for Breast Cancer research, YMCA Family Center and on and on.  For a Company of this size to strive to make a difference in the community is a legacy I hope to continue far into the future for Fireproof.

Best advice to Fireproof clients.
Take advantage of the technology we offer to improve workflow and cut administrative expenses.

Favorite thing about your job.
Working for a Company that is privately owned has allowed me to grow professionally and personally.  The opportunity Fireproof has given me inspires me to help those who want to better themselves with the Company and in the community as well.

How is Fireproof better than their competitors?
Service, Service, Service.  We truly value our customers and work with them to see how Fireproof can partner with them today as well as into the future.

What can you tell us about Industry trends?
The trend currently would be how to capitalize on the Electronic Age.  As “The Cloud” services grow and paper becomes less and less prevalent Record Centers need to change and offer services that would relate to electronic storage.

I am a twin. We are nine minutes apart and yes I am the oldest.
Being born into a military family, I have moved over 26 times in my life.
