Imagine this…a hurricane has just swept through your city, and just destroyed your main operating facility.

With the recent crisis around Hurricane Irene, this is not too difficult to imagine anymore!

Ohio is at risk for experiencing severe weather at any point in the calendar year.

It is time to get thinking about preparing your company for survival.

FACT: 1 in every 4 companies will not survive a disaster.

Now is the time to ask yourself some important questions:

Question #1: Can you locate your disaster/emergency plan right now (as in today) in case of an emergency? What would be your first action step?

Question #2: Now that you have located your disaster recovery plan, when was the last date it was updated?

Question #3: Does your company have action procedures that are documented in case of a disasterous event, and how to respond with proper escalation procedures?

Question #4: Are your vital records protected?

Question #5: Have off-site storage procedures been established for those vital records?

If you answered “NO” to any of these questions, it is time to begin an action plan. Your disaster recovery plan could be as simple as indexing current data, and storing off-site records to start.
