Green Week
St. Patrick’s Day or St. Paddy’s Day? Either way, green week has started!
Here at Fireproof, we love to talk about “being green”. With our mobile and plant based shredding facilities, we are proud to say 100% of materials that we handle through our destruction services are recycled. We help our clients understand the legal and regulatory violations they could be facing by NOT destroying information before discarding. In our world, it’s “easy being green”.
There are many exciting events happening in and around Columbus this week in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day!
Check these out!
Dublin, Ohio – Our green city of Dublin, Ohio “It’s greener in Dublin” already kicked off the week this past Saturday with a Greenest, Grandest St. Patrick’s Day Parade with over 100 entries and other festivities. The city will be “hopping” this Saturday as area merchants open their doors and bars to welcome Dublin’s own “holiday”.
Downtown Columbus- This year’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on March 17th starting at 9:30AM. The Shamrock Club of Columbus sponsors and funds the event taking place downtown.
If you are traveling, perhaps you will hit one of these “green” destinations:
Chicago, Illinois – Dyeing of the Chicago River.
New York City, New York – The largest parade in the world. Started in 1762, before the Declaration of Independence was signed.
Savannah, Georgia – Second largest parade in the world.

Finally,
It’s not St. Patricks’s Day without a Shamrock Shake from McDonalds! Shamrock shakes were first offered by Uncle O’Grimacey in 1970.
Jameson’s Whiskey is having a Global Party and you can win a trip to Ireland on their facebook page.
And of course, we can’t forget about the beer. Guinness is hosting the world’s largest St. Patrick Day party. Check them out on their Guinness facebook page.
What will you be doing to celebrate “green day”?
